Tonight I wanted to try a new recipe that gave me the taste of apple pie but without the prep/making of a full apple pie...especially since there are only 2 of us and we shouldn't eat a whole apple pie! These little treats are pretty dang good, and very easy to make. I absolutely loved the smell of these baking...so delish!
Ingredients - this makes 4 servings/bites:
1/2 Apple - I used a Fuji apple...granny smiths are good too!
1/8 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp apple pie spice (you can mix cinnamon, nutmeg, & cloves if you don't want to buy this specific spice!)
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 roll Pillsbury crescent rolls (4 crescents)
1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees & line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, combine the apple pie spice and brown sugar. Lay out the crescent rolls on the parchment paper, and sprinkle the mixture on each one; sprinkle the chopped pecans as well if desired.
- Cut the 1/2 apple into fourths. Melt the butter in another small bowl, dredge the apple pieces and then place on the wide end of the crescent.
- Roll up crescent around the apple, brushing leftover butter on top. Dust the top with apple pie spice if you would like!
- Bake for about 12+ minutes, cool for 5 minutes. I served with Breyers Natural Vanilla!
